To support diverse customer needs, we provide a variety of billing options and arrangements, including support for:
Water/Dialysate testing
Spectra bills the medical facility for any water/dialysate testing, with fee schedules established by a pre-determined service agreement.
Managed care organizations
Numerous payment arrangements are available for managed care organizations (MCOs) and other insurance providers that may not pay Spectra directly. Please contact your Spectra Billing Representative to discuss specific MCO practices.
Private insurance
Spectra will bill private insurance companies for treatment upon receipt of a signed "Assignment of Benefits" form and a copy of the insurance card. Depending upon individual policies, patients may be responsible for co-payments, deductibles, out-of-pocket or non-covered charges.
Medicare
Medicare requires ordering physicians to provide laboratories with a diagnosis for each requested test. The Composite Rate tests paid by Medicare to dialysis providers include a number of laboratory tests for hemodialysis, IPD, CCPD and CAPD.
Note that all billing arrangements require the completion of a "Patient Billing Information/Assignment of Benefits" form for each patient.
